Indian Wedding Stages are important features at Indian weddings. Whether the Asian wedding stage backdrop is simply there as a feature or whether it is required as part of a ceremony; there is one thing in common – they are always spectacular! There are many different styles of stages, some with shining gold to symbolise richness, wealth and general high quality in all aspects, and some red to symbolise love, luxury and again, richness. There are several specialised Indian wedding stages, each with its own individual name. Firstly, we have the Mehndi stage, this could be in vibrant and fun tropical colours, rich and Moghul with Arabic or Moroccan reds and burnt oranges or even daring even to add purple and turquoise to create a modern peacock theme. These are all endless possibilities for mehndi however there are a lot of intricate details designed into all the furniture, making the whole scene feel very personalised and special, and also brings value to the furniture itself, as it gives off the feeling of having had a lot of time and effort spent on it.

Next, we have the newly designed bespoke water feature, which focuses more on a white, silver, crystal and all things bling and glitter scheme. These clean cut, fresh colours blend well together, and create a tranquil and lavish setting for an Indian wedding. Planning an Asian Weddings can be a daunting task, which is why we always recommend clients leave the hard work to a trusted source. However, choosing the right person to look after your wedding is not exactly easy itself, so here are Parvy Rakkar, freelance wedding planners top 10 tips on choosing the right Asian Wedding planner:

Tip 1: Word of mouth. Having a friend recommend somebody is the best way to choose your Asian Wedding Planner because they will have experienced the Pro’s and Con’s of the service. However don’t just take their word for it, ask to come to an event and always check the quality of the services provided, from the Food to the Decor. Poor quality doesn’t always mean poor service, but poor quality could leave you unhappy on your big day.

Tip 2: Shop around. Follow your head not your heart, don’t just stick to the first Planner you come across, now matter how charming they might be. Talk to different Wedding Planners, see how they work and what they have to offer. Weigh up the positives and negatives of each one and go from there.

Tip 3: Meet in person. As with any supplier, never confirm your planner over the phone. Your Wedding Planner should invite you to their office/showroom or arrange to meet you at your venue. Always take time out to go and meet your potential Wedding Planner as this will allow you to get a feel for them and not have to commit to anything until you’ve met and gotten to know them

Tip 4: Ask for case studies. Your Asian Wedding Planner should have a host of weddings under their belt so always be sure to ask for a sample of their work. They should have plenty of pictures, videos and testimonials of previous events. Ask them if you can visit them on site at a venue and see how they set up and work.

Tip 5: The “M” word. Money. If they mention or ask for it before they’ve asked you in detail what you require, walk away. A real Wedding Planner will sit down with you, take a detailed brief, explain exactly what they are offering and also offer some advice. This is all before they’ve even asked for a penny.

Tip 6: ContractCheck/ask for a get out clause. This ensures you are not legally tied into anything should the event cancel or you feel unhappy with your Planner and wish to change. This should avoid any formalities down the line and ALWAYS read the small print.

Tip 7: Customer Service. The quality of the customer service you receive from someone you are paying to plan your wedding is paramount. Your calls should be answered, if not then returned as soon as possible. Your emails replied to and they should treat you like their best friend. Your relationship with your wedding planner is key in having the perfect wedding. Make sure they have your best interests at heart. You will know when they check up on you from time to time to ensure everything is running smoothly.

Tip 8: Budget planning. A good Asian Wedding Planner should work with all budgets, however big or small. If they can’t meet your requirements, they should recommend someone who can. Your Planner should have lots of contacts and should be able to find you the service you require without breaking the bank.

Tip 9: Effort. Your Wedding Planner must take maximum effort in ensuring you a stress free journey leading up to the big day. They must find suitable products/services you want for your wedding whether this means supplying it or sourcing it and they should be able to provide you with information from A-Z when needed. You’re the client so it’s up to them to ensure that you know exactly what is going on with your wedding and take responsibility to ensure you have acknowledged what they’ve done on a day to day basis.

Tip 10: Think outside the box. When getting married you will obviously have loads of ideas, some will work and some wont. Your Wedding Planner should have a whole bunch of alternatives up their sleeve should something you want be above budget or impossible to do. They should be able to think outside the box and suggest different ideas on the spot.

Is the phone really needed at traditional Indian ceremonies - Join the debate

You’re walking down that long aisle, gazing towards that handsome prince of yours who is waiting under the mandap to marry you – the music is playing, parents are smiling, the sun is shining and suddenly you gaze over at your wedding guests and all your friends and family are greeting you whilst taking a picture of you through their camera phone.

When your photos come back from your wedding photographer, all your guest shots include people looking down at their laps or into a phone camera instead of focussing on you - the beautiful bride and your handsome groom. People are smiling, but they're all staring at little screens texting away, putting messages on facebook and twitter or taking random pictures.

Welcome to the phone camera and social media frenzy, where, even if you've hired someone to take photos, every guest has a camera and an iPhone and they are busy writing on their wall about the whole event. They're present at your wedding, but are they really paying attention?

Be thoughtful to the bride and groom during their ceremony!

Lets face it, we have all become techno-mad but isn’t it just polite and respectful to take a few moments to be truly present at key moments? A traditional indian wedding where brides and grooms have meticulously planned a silent ceremony is an important moment when we should pay attention and just momentarily hold fire on what we do every minute of every day - play with our phones. When you discourage devices at your wedding, you encourage your guests to look up and interact with you or your family, which is why you called them!

While it is not customary to have a no camera policy at indian wedding ceremonies, we often hear our brides and grooms wish that people did — at least during the ceremony. We would love to hear from other people who think camera phones and texting during ceremonies should not be allowed. Or, do you believe that there is nothing wrong with it – send us your viewpoint by blog or Facebook.

What does the Maz of Leicester Team believe? – camera phones and social media have their place, but probably not in the middle of someone’s beautiful romantic moment that they have dreamed of and planned all their lives. While it is true that a professional photographer may set you back a lot more than those who is are hobbyists, there is a lot to be said for employing a professional especially when things go wrong.

What to expect from a professional?

A reputable company with industry qualifications and experience in the wedding market will give you with the following:

A professional photographer or photographers for the event depending on timings
Assurance with industry backing
Professionals with insurance in the event something goes wrong
They offer good back up plans when plans change and they can work to changes in plans as they have the experience to work under different conditions
They can capture emotions and special moments in a unique and artistic way

The alternative is mamaji’s camera and to rely on him to capture all of those priceless memories as best he can. Maz Supports a skydive to raise money for Ronald McDonald, an independent charity which provides accommodation for families whose children are in hospital outside their own city. It provides an invaluable ‘home from home‘ service.

Kit Rakkar and her family who are long standing clients of Maz's, they used the facilities of RMHC in Birmingham, when their son Ekam was seriously ill. Ekam is now doing well, he is back to school and his central line came out July 2011. RMHC is such a worthwhile charity that helps families with children who are in hospital away from home, with a place to stay, have some form of normality and some form of family life when everything else feels like it's falling apart.

Maz of Leicester supports Everest Challenge

During April 2012, Maz of Leicester will be supporting leading specialist oral surgeon, Dr Amit Kotecha’s Everest Summit Bid in aid of Cancer Research UK. The target is to raise over £100,000 towards the cause. Cancer now affects 1 in 4 people and we all know of or have lost someone to this dreadful disease. Amit lost his mum to cancer over 20 years ago, so he has personal experience of the devastation this disease can cause. To mark the 20th year he has undertaken this monumental task.

His entire expedition will be self-funded so that every penny from sponsorship and donations go directly to Cancer Research UK. He will be leaving his busy dental practice based in Kirby Muxloe, his wife and children for over two months in pursuit of his goal.

On his return from the Everest Challenge, Maz of Leicester and various other prestigious sponsors will be helping to host a charity dinner at the Porsche Garage in Leicester. Maz add their detailed décor touches to Hilton Park Lane

The Maz team sprinkle their magic at ballroom in one of Londons most prestigious hotels, The Hilton hotel for a special wedding venue. The guests were greeted by an outstanding piano performance in the foyer and were left speechless by the astonishing bespoke LED lights which beautifully lit up the dance floor and high ceilings - truly setting the mood of a highly elegant nightclub.

The soft lights perfectly highlighted the breath-taking décor of black chair covers which were delicately matched with the finest diamante buckles. These were complimented by the luxurious black crushed velvet table cloth along the well lit Savoy centerpieces all part of creating a truly memorable experience. But the biggest show stopper was the head table which was decorated in great detail with the rich black crashed velvet table linen being the main attraction of the decoration.

When it comes to music and entertainment, the team at kudos knows how to stretch that extra mile. The guest were spoilt for choice with a mixture of chart hits, bhangra, Bollywood, electro, house - the list can go on to infinity- by one of kudos professional DJ. Maz of Leicester and Kudos put together a Magnificent display at the annual IAAFA charity ball at the Radisson Blu Portman Square in London. The event was held by world renowned Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dental Surgeon, Dr Bob Khanna, in aid of supporting the Make a Wish foundation, the night proved to be a massive success in all areas Raising over £20,000 from the Auction. The Make a Wish foundation supports children fighting life-threatening illnesses. The whole idea of a wish is to act as a positive distraction from on going medical treatment and a focus for children living with serious illness whose future may be uncertain.

Maz of Leicester put together a fantastic spectacle arranging the entertainment, lighting and décor with a full Arabic theme. The Kudos décor team set up a full Arabic seating area with bedouin tents, low seating with indoor shisha area, desert backdrops, palm trees, candle wall and middle eastern ornaments.

The stunning Waltham Abbey Marriott, Forest Suite accommodated 280 guests for an engagement ceremony, civil ceremony and evening reception for Selina and Hanish. Maz was at there to capture all the special moments of the day. The day started with some casual pictures of Selina having her finished hair and makeup touches like a true bride by Raj Matharu.

Selina started the day in her engagement outfit which oozed glamour and style in bright turquoise and deep purple. Maz continued snapping some bridal portraits and then on the family groups during the ceremony. Selina and Hanish like a true star’s were whisked off for a quick costume and hair and makeup change and then on to their civil ceremony. With a gown fit for a princess in ivory and lace, topped of a Swarovski tiara this bride was ready to walk the aisle. Maz caught some great shots of the couple making their vows. The day was topped off my some truly stunning pictures of the couples first dance and party.

The Maz team would like to congratulation both Selina and Hanish, and look forward to working with them in March for the wedding.

Maz of Leicester invited to theme the Bond in Bollywood Christmas Ball for Autism West Midlands and award winning Indian restaurant Itihaas and Kingston Noble Career Consultancy.

The Maz team are very excited this week as they plan a spectacular glitzy party this week for charity. Itihaas and Kingston Noble saw an excellent opportunity to help the charity raise some much-needed funds. The tongue in cheek ‘Bond in Bollywood’ themed charity dinner will be held in the beautiful surroundings of the Botanical Gardens on Thursday 22nd December. The “East meets West” concept comes from the exciting fusion food that Itihaas restaurant has built its excellent reputation on. Itihaas (awarded the Best Indian Restaurant in the UK, by the Cobra Good Curry Guide 2008) will be providing some of the most delectable fusion food treats on the evening.

Jonathan Shephard, Chief Executive of Autism West Midlands said: “We are really pleased to be the beneficiaries of what promises to be a fantastic event. It’s encouraging that even in these financially challenging times, businesses are prepared to support their local charities”.

Nina Wadia Meets Maz

Maz took images of Eastenders star Nina Wadia on Friday 9th December when she visited Leicester for the Merlyn Vaz Christmas Tree Lights Switch on. Nina Wadia who plays Zainab Masood in the BBC1 show was invited by Leicester East MP Keith Vaz to light up the Merlyn Vaz tree, in memory of his mother, who was Leicester's first female Asian councillor. Nina is also supporting Keith Vaz’s Diabetes charity Silver Star.

Maz worked amongst crowds of fans who gathered at the Merlyn Vaz Centre in Spinney Hill Road. Maz really captured the excitement of the moments as crowds cheered as the lights came on and fireworks were set off. The atmosphere was palpable and really set the Christmas Mood. Nina said: "This is my first light switch-on and it's a very special thing to do."

Maz was keen to find out about Nina’s Christmas Storyline but Nina Wadia was very tight-lipped about the soap's biggest storyline which is set to reach a climax at Christmas. Maz comments “I was honoured to photograph Nina Wadia. She is a lovely lady, down to earth and very warm despite being such a big star. I really enjoyed photographing her.”

Sevacare goes Bollywood!

Maz were proud to be part of the team organising the sevacare’s 13th anniversary Christmas party. The event was not only an opportunity for chairman Ravi Bains to thank his staff of over 30 care homes, it was also benefiting Breast Cancer and many more rewarding bodies.

Central Banqueting Suite in Bilston was turned into Bollywood Bizarre for one evening only. Maz Events team turned the venue around to look like it was fit for Bollywood stars. From ceiling high black draping, luscious gold theatrical curtains, Bollywood projection gobos, fan backdrops, Bollywood photo booths, LED table centres and much much more.

Guests were left star struck when they were greeted outside by fire breathers and magicians braving the weather to show off their skills! They were lead into a drinks reception where champagne, strawberries and cocktails were freely flowing. When the string curtains were pulled back all 300 guests were lead to their Bollywood film named tables.

The evening started off with compare Sukhi Bart welcoming everyone and outlining the evening’s entertainment. We kicked off with handing out surprise 10 year service awards to some dedicated staff members. Then moving on Baldev Kaur Rayat introduced Breast cancer charity, and was presented a cheque for 5k as a donation from Sevacare. Guests were soon entertained by Bollywood Dreams Dance academy that performed a 15 minute medley.

Darren staple berg that ran the London marathon was then invited to the stage along with Graham Harrison who cycled from John o’groates to lands’ end were commended on stage for their achievements.

Towards the beginning of the dance floor opening, Alexander Stewart who the Observer labelled

a singer to listen out for, astonishingly mature for his 23 years, a pretty auspicious beginning, and graced guests with his extraordinary jazz voice, fitting in some Christmas hits too. Guests were left stunned. Alexander well and truly opened the dance floor in style and left guests dancing away till the early hours of the morning.

Maz Events and Photography made a bride’s Cinderalla dream came true when they helped to organise the finishing touches for a wedding for Australian bride Zayna and her fiancé Hitesh within 2 weeks of them landing in the UK. We put together wedding idea’s and reception themes for Zayna to select when she arrived in the UK. She was confident in our abilities as Asian Wedding Photographers and Asian Wedding planners to organise her event and make suggestions from Australia and …. what a stunning wedding we delivered!

Zayna and Hitesh chose National Motorcycle Museum as the venue for their traditional Indian wedding and reception. The pre-wedding parties and mendhi were held in Birmingham. Zayna looked stunning with her beautiful red lengha and her Moghul inspired jewellery.

We themed the Hindu wedding with a traditional wooden carved mandap in rust and antique gold. Teamed up with gold lighting, creating a dark intimate atmosphere. To add a touch of colour the fresh mandap flowers were in hot pink, lime, red and orange. Zayna was happy to give us free rein on the theming and colours which was all worth it to hear that it was more than what she had expected.

With such a traditional wedding set up with we contrasted the wedding reception given the time of year, with a winter theme. Each table was named after a seasonal item. We turned the imperial suite into an ice cave with a white and silver fan backdrop, crystal sofa, ice blue sash’s, white LED dance floor , twig and crystal table centres, to finish off ice blue mood lighting to set the ambience for an Australia meets England winter reception. Truly magical and never been created before!

Maz caught some unique shots with photogenic Zayna and Hitesh, who were made for the camera. Stunning contemporary images capturing the couple and families enjoying the event! A big thank you to National Motorcycle Museum, the couple and their families for working with us to create stunning wedding photography for their Big Fat Asian Wedding!

Spring wedding season started for Maz with beautiful weather and an outdoor wedding at The Grove. Cricket fans bowled over by Indian legend's visit to Leicester and Maz was there to capture it all. One of cricket's most iconic figures Kapil Dev has visited Leicester – to the delight of his fans.

Hundreds of fans, fresh from celebrating India's victory over Sri Lanka in the World Cup, lined the city's Golden Mile to greet the retired star, who captained the Indian side when they last won the trophy, in 1983.

A hail of flowers and confetti greeted the motorcade as it arrived at the Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre, where a select audience put questions to their hero.

Up to 200 people gathered for the question-and-answer session with Kapil at the Neighbourhood Centre, in Rothley Street, including 50 readers who won tickets in a Leicester Mercury Competition.

Leicester East MP Keith Vaz, who invited Kapil to Leicester as his guest requested Maz to be there to snap this special moment. Being a committed cricket fan himself Maz was thrilled to be given this opportunity.

Maz photographs Prince Edward The Earl of Wessex during a visit to the Shree Sanatan Mandir, in Belgrave, Leicester.

The prince was greeted by cheers as he arrived at the Shree Sanatan Mandir, in Belgrave, Leicester. Members had double reason to celebrate, as the visit coincided with the Hindu temple's 40th anniversary. His Royal Highness met worshippers and was presented with flowers and a pile of cards from some younger members.

Speaking to more than 100 guests in the centre's Mahatma Gandhi Hall, the prince thanked everyone for making him feel welcome, before unveiling a plaque.

Temple president Ramanbhai Barber said: "It's an honour to the Hindu community we are getting our first royal visit."

Maz was commissioned to photograph the Prince during his visit. Maz events were also given the opportunity to theme the Mandir for The prince’s visit, it was truly an honour to be a part of this event.

Lighting, attire and interaction with the client are covered as you follow two of the industry's leading portrait artists create images you can emulate as you have the opportunity to use your camera. TUESDAY session is on location and the class will divide into groups that will be mentored by Maz and Norman. Norman is an internationally acclaimed wedding and portrait photographer with outstanding credentials. Rick is one of the world's leading digital artists with extensive credentials and lectures across the world to professional groups.

This a all day intensive workshop. In the MORNING session Norman will create the portraits demonstrating lighting techniques that create the perfect representation of the subject. Part of the this technique is analysis of the subject and who he or she is and selecting the appropriate attire. This session commences at 9 am.

In the AFTERNOON Rick will demonstrate work flow and the finishing of the portrait using Photoshop. This session commences at 1.30 pm. The workshop will end at 5 pm. You have the option of reserving for Monday when the subject will be female or Tuesday when the subject will be male or reserving for both sessions.

So much focus goes into the wedding day that sometimes the big questions get buried beneath the flower arrangements and seating plans. We are looking for young couples who are interested in taking a voyage of discovery with their partner before the big day - an experience designed to give their marriage a better chance of lasting the course.

You need to have your wedding plans underway and be willing to explore your relationship with your partner. You will need to be open with one another about what you want from your life together – your strengths and weaknesses as a couple. You will also be interested in finding out more about what makes people’s relationships tick.

Mitesh and Manisha - Northbrook Park

Maz events team would like to congratulate Mitesh and Manisha. They enjoyed a whole weekend of wedding celebrations at the beautiful grounds of Northbrook Park. Each event was individually themed utilising the stunning surroundings of the venue. They were married in the vine room under the waterfountain mandap which was draped in orange and finished with burnt orange and red floral arrangements. The guests enjoyed a short break in their cottages and then ushered into the orangery for the couple’s rainforest themed wedding reception. Their top table was Maz’s frame background entwined with rainforests props. The orangery ceiling was covered with peacock green and turquoise draping, oversized butterflies and hanging birds contrasting with the walls which were covered in greenery. The decor was finished with Maz’s signature birdcage table centres placed on alternate tables adsn LED mood lighting to compliment the theme. To finish the weekend off the next day they performed the civil ceremony under the waterfountain which was draped with rich plum fabric. The whole team thoroughly enjoyed expressing their creativity with this event it was truly distinctive.

Bollywood Ball with James Caan - St Johns Hotel

The whole Maz events team not only themed but also enjoyed an evening with a whole host of celebrities at the St Johns Hotel, for an evening in aid of the Pakistani Flood Victims. The event started with a lively dance performance by Hina & Co, followed by the host for the night Llewela Bailey opening the event and introducing the cause. Guests continued to be entertained by side-splitting comedian Shazia Mirza. The guest speaker James Caan then entered the room to his signature Dragons Den soundtrack and left guests amazed by his business words of wisdom. He bravely then opened the floor to a Q and A session where guests continued to be intrigued by his achievements. The evening continued to be a success for the cause after an extremely competitive live auction. To conclude and lighten the mood guests were entertained by a medley of songs performed by Navin Kundra followed by a party packed dance floor to the sounds of Kudos Music. Maz events team are extremely proud to have been selected to support such a worthwhile cause.

Two Kisses for Eventologists

Leading Leicester based events company Eventologists celebrated with Tigers players Geordan Murphy and Martin Castro Giovanni as they unveiled their new bar and Italian restaurant ‘Timo’ in Market Harborough on Thursday 28th October 2010.

Eventologists have a long list of corporate and celebrity clients including Tigers, Alison Goldfrapp, David Lloyd Clubs, The Atomic Weapons Industry, Sony TV for whom they have organised events, produced installations and provided theming and entertainment. For the Timo project, they designed the Interior the restaurant and organised the launch event which was attended by patrons and celebrities. The stunning and sophisticated interior features a specially designed wallpaper created by the Eventologists Design Team. The LED chandaliers and hand-made sofa’s, along with the interior in the Timo signature colours of black and maroon, provides the finishing touches. Guests were welcomed by venetian masked ladies on stilts at the launch event which was was attended by Martin Johnson, Austin Healy, fellow Tigers team members and others from the Rugby fraternity.

Rita Chandarana from Eventologists pictured comments “Castro and Geordan were delighted with the overall design of the new restaurant. Eventologists were given a very challenging brief to design the interior in keeping with the Timo brand and organise the launch – all within 3 weeks! The new website is shortly to be launched with information on special events and features.”

Sorrell and Krishan - Alton Towers Hotel

Maz explained The Classical Portraiture Technique has not been taught to many Photographers and as the trends change it will be essential for Photographers to go back to basics.

Rita worked on a stunning set-up at Royal Court Hotel on 19th September for Ranj Heer. Ranj chose one Maz's new inventions 'the cascading candle backdrop' in gold. The accent colours for the flowers were ivory and orange. The room was stunning. Stunning bride Ranjit sent a lovely thank you message to Rita on Monday "thank you so much for making our wedding day perfect. The decor was amazing. Thank you for your hard work and patience. Progress was slowly being made to pull together the decor for Jas Gill’s wedding at Woodhouse in Princethorpe on bank holiday weekend. A long way to go till its all completed but it is going to look so amazing! An unusual combination in Royal Blue, Red and White. Jas really wanted something different and chose a somewhat tricky but unusual colour scheme and idea’s. She trusted Maz’s team to create a stunning display for her. Amongst our idea’s were sparkly, crystal tree’s, butterflies on a stunning top table and a candy stall. , We love working on this event Jas – Looking forward to seeing the final results!

Amit would like to congratulate Rupesh and Rachana who were married on 5th September 2010 at Colwick Hall. Amit designed the most spectacular decorations for the couple’s event whose colour theme was turquoise and ivory. The mandap was ivory and very classical and was a perfect choice for their event, couple with pretty roses and orchids. The top table was Maz’s own invention – the very sophisticated Candle Wall, which was originally designed for Amit’s wedding and is now a signature piece for a Maz Event. Amit – our creative and technical genius always loves challenges and really enjoyed the challenging brief given by Rachana and Rupesh. “It is great where I am given a blank canvas to work on because I can really go to town on themes and idea’s – A big thank you to Rupesh and Rachana for booking us.”

Maz would like to congratulate his very dear friends – the Gill Family who are celebrating the wedding of Son Raj Gill to Narinder on Sunday 5th September 2010 at National Motorcycle Museum. Maz has been the wedding photographer for the family for many years and always loves attending their functions.
Every attention to detail was paid to ensuring guests really had the most spectacular time at the wedding reception in the Monarch Suite. Maz events team decorated the top table and stagebackdrop with their beautiful water fountain in plum colours. Rita said that plums and purple’s seem to be the colour of the season – the overall theme was stunning. We coupled the decor with deep plum and ivory cala lilies, which really offset the overall theme.

Our new entertainment attraction the Bhangra Bot was launched at Sunny Paul’s wedding at New Bingley Hall on 28th August 2010. It was fantastic! The Bhangra Bot is a robot with pyrotechnic features and will be big in 2011. He stood 10ft high at Sunny’s wedding and to his bride’s Rajni’s surprise approached the darkened dancefloor and lit up. He danced and entertained guests and became one of the biggest attractions – after the bride and groom of course.

Maz of Leicester Support Amit Kotecha In His Aim To Reach The Everest Summit

During March 2010 Dr Amit Kotecha a Specialist Oral Surgeon will be away for 2 months from his Busy Practice & Young family, as he will be attempting to summit the South Face of Everest in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Cancer now affects 1 in 4 people and we all know of or have lost someone to this dreadful disease. Amit lost his Mum to cancer 20 years ago, so he has personal experience of the devastation this disease can cause, to mark the 20th year he has undertaken this monumental task.

Around 285,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed each year in the UK. Cancer Research UK are working hard to improve our understanding of cancer and develop better ways to prevent,diagnose and treat the disease as well as offer support and advice to cancer patients and families.

We are well on our way to the £100,000+ target to be raised and I urge you to give generously to this worthy cause. Completion of gift aid certificate will allow us to claim 28% tax back so the charity benefits greater.

The trip is being funded completely by Amit and therefore every penny of sponsorship will go directly to the cancer research UK.
