MONDAY session will cover various styles and techniques for Studio style portraits and bridals. Lighting, attire and interaction with the client are covered as you follow two of the industry's leading portrait artists create images you can emulate as you have the opportunity to use your camera. This session commences at 9:30 am breaks for lunch and recommences at 1:30 pm.

TUESDAY session is on location and the class will divide into groups that will be mentored by Maz and Norman. You will create images you can use for your own website and display and we will produce prints for you to take away. You will learn or enhance your existing skills at finding backgrounds and light. Both Monday and Tuesday sessions will end at approximately 5:30 pm.

Norman is an internationally acclaimed wedding and portrait photographer with outstanding credentials. Rick is one of the world's leading digital artists with extensive credentials and lectures across the world to professional groups.

This a all day intensive workshop. In the MORNING session Norman will create the portraits demonstrating lighting techniques that create the perfect representation of the subject. Part of the this technique is analysis of the subject and who he or she is and selecting the appropriate attire. This session commences at 9 am.

In the AFTERNOON Rick will demonstrate work flow and the finishing of the portrait using Photoshop. This session commences at 1.30 pm. The workshop will end at 5 pm. You have the option of reserving for Monday when the subject will be female or Tuesday when the subject will be male or reserving for both sessions.

BBC3 Pilot Looking for Engaged Couples to Test Drive Their Marriage

Have you ever wondered how people view you as a couple? Would you like the chance to delve into somebody else’s engagement and see what they’re planning for their big day, and their future lives together?

So much focus goes into the wedding day that sometimes the big questions get buried beneath the flower arrangements and seating plans. We are looking for young couples who are interested in taking a voyage of discovery with their partner before the big day - an experience designed to give their marriage a better chance of lasting the course.

You need to have your wedding plans underway and be willing to explore your relationship with your partner. You will need to be open with one another about what you want from your life together – your strengths and weaknesses as a couple. You will also be interested in finding out more about what makes people’s relationships tick.

Mitesh and Manisha - Northbrook Park

Maz events team would like to congratulate Mitesh and Manisha. They enjoyed a whole weekend of wedding celebrations at the beautiful grounds of Northbrook Park. Each event was individually themed utilising the stunning surroundings of the venue. They were married in the vine room under the waterfountain mandap which was draped in orange and finished with burnt orange and red floral arrangements. The guests enjoyed a short break in their cottages and then ushered into the orangery for the couple’s rainforest themed wedding reception. Their top table was Maz’s frame background entwined with rainforests props. The orangery ceiling was covered with peacock green and turquoise draping, oversized butterflies and hanging birds contrasting with the walls which were covered in greenery. The decor was finished with Maz’s signature birdcage table centres placed on alternate tables adsn LED mood lighting to compliment the theme. To finish the weekend off the next day they performed the civil ceremony under the waterfountain which was draped with rich plum fabric. The whole team thoroughly enjoyed expressing their creativity with this event it was truly distinctive.

Bollywood Ball with James Caan - St Johns Hotel

The whole Maz events team not only themed but also enjoyed an evening with a whole host of celebrities at the St Johns Hotel, for an evening in aid of the Pakistani Flood Victims. The event started with a lively dance performance by Hina & Co, followed by the host for the night Llewela Bailey opening the event and introducing the cause. Guests continued to be entertained by side-splitting comedian Shazia Mirza. The guest speaker James Caan then entered the room to his signature Dragons Den soundtrack and left guests amazed by his business words of wisdom. He bravely then opened the floor to a Q and A session where guests continued to be intrigued by his achievements. The evening continued to be a success for the cause after an extremely competitive live auction. To conclude and lighten the mood guests were entertained by a medley of songs performed by Navin Kundra followed by a party packed dance floor to the sounds of Kudos Music. Maz events team are extremely proud to have been selected to support such a worthwhile cause.

Two Kisses for Eventologists

Leading Leicester based events company Eventologists celebrated with Tigers players Geordan Murphy and Martin Castro Giovanni as they unveiled their new bar and Italian restaurant ‘Timo’ in Market Harborough on Thursday 28th October 2010.

Eventologists have a long list of corporate and celebrity clients including Tigers, Alison Goldfrapp, David Lloyd Clubs, The Atomic Weapons Industry, Sony TV for whom they have organised events, produced installations and provided theming and entertainment. For the Timo project, they designed the Interior the restaurant and organised the launch event which was attended by patrons and celebrities. The stunning and sophisticated interior features a specially designed wallpaper created by the Eventologists Design Team. The LED chandaliers and hand-made sofa’s, along with the interior in the Timo signature colours of black and maroon, provides the finishing touches. Guests were welcomed by venetian masked ladies on stilts at the launch event which was was attended by Martin Johnson, Austin Healy, fellow Tigers team members and others from the Rugby fraternity.

Rita Chandarana from Eventologists pictured comments “Castro and Geordan were delighted with the overall design of the new restaurant. Eventologists were given a very challenging brief to design the interior in keeping with the Timo brand and organise the launch – all within 3 weeks! The new website is shortly to be launched with information on special events and features.”

Sorrell and Krishan - Alton Towers Hotel

Congratulations to Sorrell and Krishan who were married at Alton Towers Hotel recently. The couple had a busy schedule on their wedding day with a Civil, Wedding, Reception. Sorrell looked stunning in her wedding outfit during the Indian Wedding Ceremony. Maz was blown away at how handsome the couple looked in the evening, the party was great and Maz’s team wish them the very best of luck for the future.

Pakistani Flood appeal - Bollywood Ball

With preparation for religious festivities fast approaching, we would like to remember those that have been affected by the devastating effect of the floods in Pakistan this year. With Law firm Challinors, in association with St Philips Chambers and Award-winning restaurant Itihaas, Maz Events team are hosting a Bollywood Ball with James Caan, in aid of the Pakistani Flood Appeal.

World Food Awards - 25th October 2010 - Park Lane Hilton

On the 25^th October 2010 at Park Lane Hilton, Maz Events launched their new colour changing table centres at the World Food Awards sponsored by Sony TV. The night proved to a huge success honouring some of the world greatest in the food industry. Celebrities included host Lenny Henry, Singers Raghav, Shri and Katy Shotter, Radio Ones presenter Nihal, Chris Eubanks, Anjum Ananad, Levi Roots, Cyrus Todiwala and many more.

Congratulations to Avatar and Bhupinder who celebrated their wedding at a Reception at St Johns Hotel Solihull on 17^th October 2010. Despite being a cold day, Maz created some wonderful portraits of their wedding day -We look forward to creating a beautiful album of their special day. Maz gave a seminar in September to the Yorkshire Region MPA, would like to thank Steve Ramsden Studio www.steveramsdenstudio.co.uk for a really enjoyable evening. Maz spoke about lighting and return of Classical Portraiture which is re-emerging as a trend in portraits and Wedding Photography. Maz explained The Classical Portraiture Technique has not been taught to many Photographers and as the trends change it will be essential for Photographers to go back to basics.

Ranj Heer - 19th September 2010 - Royal Court Hall

Rita worked on a stunning set-up at Royal Court Hotel on 19th September for Ranj Heer. Ranj chose one Maz's new inventions 'the cascading candle backdrop' in gold. The accent colours for the flowers were ivory and orange. The room was stunning. Stunning bride Ranjit sent a lovely thank you message to Rita on Monday "thank you so much for making our wedding day perfect. The decor was amazing. Thank you for your hard work and patience. I will never forget all you have done". Ranj - it was a pleasure working with you.

Tayub Family - 19th September 2010 - Crown Crest

Amit created a magical set up for the Tayub Family (Crown Crest) on 19th September and what a lovely setting in a classical maroon and gold. The Tayub's invited over 2500 guests and as one of the largest number of table centres which had to be completed during set up, the task was a big one! The Maz team would like to congratulate the Tayub Family on their wedding.

Sonesh and Reena - Sheraton Park Lane

Congratulations Sonesh and Reena, Maz had a challenge on Sunday to create a stunning top table with a real short turnaround between wedding and reception at Sheraton Park Lane. Kavita's team worked round the clock to create a classical but stunning top table design in white and purple.

Jay and Bhumika - Pre-wedding Shoot - London Bridge - Central London

Maz had lots of fun with Jay and Bhumika when they went to Central London for a pre-wedding shoot. The couple had stunning images with the backdrop of London Bridge and city. Maz is looking forward to creating some magical images of the beautiful couple at their wedding in Dubai.

Jas Gill - Woodhouse - Princethorpe

Progress was slowly being made to pull together the decor for Jas Gill’s wedding at Woodhouse in Princethorpe on bank holiday weekend. A long way to go till its all completed but it is going to look so amazing! An unusual combination in Royal Blue,  Red and White. Jas really wanted something different and chose a somewhat tricky but unusual colour scheme and idea’s. She trusted Maz’s team to create a stunning display for her. Amongst our idea’s were sparkly,  crystal tree’s,  butterflies on a stunning top table and a candy stall. , We love working on this event Jas – Looking forward to seeing the final results! 

Rupesh and Rachana - 5th September 2010 - Colwick Hall

Amit would like to congratulate Rupesh and Rachana who were married on 5th September 2010 at Colwick Hall. Amit designed the most spectacular decorations for the couple’s event whose colour theme was turquoise and ivory. The mandap was ivory and very classical and was a perfect choice for their event, couple with pretty roses and orchids. The top table was Maz’s own invention – the very sophisticated Candle Wall, which was originally designed for Amit’s wedding and is now a signature piece for a Maz Event. Amit – our creative and technical genius always loves challenges and really enjoyed the challenging brief given by Rachana and Rupesh. “It is great where I am given a blank canvas to work on because I can really go to town on themes and idea’s – A big thank you to Rupesh and Rachana for booking us.”

Raj Gill and Narinder - 5th September 2010 - Monarch Suite

Maz would like to congratulate his very dear friends – the Gill Family who are celebrating the wedding of Son Raj Gill to Narinder on Sunday 5th September 2010 at National Motorcycle Museum. Maz has been the wedding photographer for the family for many years and always loves attending their functions.
Every attention to detail was paid to ensuring guests really had the most spectacular time at the wedding reception in the Monarch Suite. Maz events team decorated the top table and stagebackdrop with their beautiful water fountain in plum colours. Rita said that plums and purple’s seem to be the colour of the season – the overall theme was stunning. We coupled the decor with deep plum and ivory cala lilies, which really offset the overall theme.

Louise and Philip - 4th September 2010 - The Grey Lady Restaurant - Newton Linford

Maz would like to congratulate his great friends Martin & xx Gibson who hosted their son’s wedding at their restaurant The Grey Lady in Newton Linford on Saturday 4th September 2010. Maz has been photographing the Gibsons for almost 30 years now and was delighted to be invited to be the photographer for their son’s wedding.

Maz said that “The day couldn’t have been more perfect, a lot of attention has been paid to the decor and the overall styling of the day. The beautiful bride Louise looked stunning on the day with very handsome groom Philip at her side. Congratulations to all of them!”

Launch of Bhangra Bot - Sunny and Rajni - 28th August 2010 - New Bingley Hall

Our new entertainment attraction the Bhangra Bot was launched at Sunny Paul’s wedding at New Bingley Hall on 28th August 2010. It was fantastic! The Bhangra Bot is a robot with pyrotechnic features and will be big in 2011. He stood 10ft high at Sunny’s wedding and to his bride’s Rajni’s surprise approached the darkened dancefloor and lit up. He danced and entertained guests and became one of the biggest attractions – after the bride and groom of course.
